Decision sciences is a business area which focuses on two related topics:
Decision sciences is the study of business analysis, quantitative methodologies, and their application to the problems of any organization. The major areas of study include applied statistics, operations research/management science, decision support systems utilizing business software, and simulation modeling. All business students take two decision sciences courses as a part of their core business coursework:
The minor in decision sciences (DSC) offers business majors and other students an opportunity to develop their skills in the quantitative methods and technology that support business decision-making. The following courses are required for a minor in decision sciences.
* Note that these hours must be in addition to courses used to satisfy the requirements of any other major or minor. See department chairperson for approval. |
