UD ENTREPRENEURSHIP STUDENTS LEARNING WHAT AND HOW...
Crotty Center Mission The Mission of the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at the University of Dayton is to develop and support our nationally recognized entrepreneurship education program, contribute to academic and professional literature in entrepreneurship, and provide leadership resources and knowledge for Miami Valley entrepreneurs.
Crotty Center History Bill Crotty graduated from the University of Dayton's School of Business Administration in 1952. Working at the company his father co-founded in the Depression, Bill was highly successful in leading the growth of Van Dyne Crotty, Inc. to a position of industry leadership. In 1998, Mr. Crotty presented a $1 million gift to the University of Dayton, establishing the Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership for continued education, research, and community outreach in entrepreneurship. In addition to the initial Crotty gift, Fifth Third Bank of Dayton contributed $250,000 toward endowing The School of Business Administration Entrepreneur-In-Residence position, providing resources for the University to hire outstanding entrepreneurs to teach and share real world experiences with the students in the Entrepreneurship program. Now in its ninth year, the University of Dayton Entrepreneurship Program has received numerous national awards, distinguishing our ENT program as one of the very best programs in the United States. With the combination of a broad entrepreneurship curriculum, mixture of professors from Ph.D. programs and practicing entrepreneurs and extracurricular programs supported by financial gifts from supportive entrepreneurs, our ENT program has become one of very high distinction.
