Business Economics is a major for students in the School of Business Administration that offers students the strength of economic theory combined with a focus in an area of applied business. This major develops the student's quantitative skills by requiring course work in econometrics or forecasting and offers a wide choice of elective courses.

1A proficiency test for BAI 103L is available for those with adequate background.

2 Students placed in ENG 114 or ENG 198 take a nonbusiness elective the second term.

3 MTH 102 is recommended for students with insufficient knowledge of secondary mathematics. MTH 102 does not count toward minimum graduation requirements.

4 CMM 110, CMM 111, and CMM 113 may be taken during different years than indicated here. Some academic majors recommend taking some of these courses during the junoir year. See faculty advisor for other sequencing possiblities.

5 See General Education Requirements in the Bulletin, Chapter V. Some General Education courses are specified in the program (e.g. PHL 103); others are to be chosen from the listing of approved courses set forth in Bulletin, Chapter IV.

Students entering UD Fall 2005 or later choose from ENG 370, ENG 372 or ENG 378.  Students entering UD before Fall 2005 choose from ENG 370, ENG 372, ENG 378, CMM 321, CMM 322, CMM 344, CMM 351, or CMM420.

8 Business Economics majors are required to take 6 semester hours of electives chosen from approved courses in one other business discipline. A list of approved courses is available from the department office or here.

9 Business Economics majors must earn C or better in ECO 203 and ECO 204.
